126 trans problems
 

so i got this thing to build into a piuller but with the stupid things this guy did to "fix" it, i might just have to go threw the whole thing and redo everything. when you take the top cover/shifter off there are 2 claw looking clips on to 2 shafts that are bolted, on of the prongs on the clips was broke and it was straight welded to the shaft. also the cuppling for the drive shaft coming out of the front cover, has the drive shaft welded strait to it also, have to cut that all up then try to find a new one. really worried. also the oil that came out of the trans was almost a melted peanut butter color. had water in =( please let me know what you guys think ishould do. i will post pictures later as i am in school right now. and they block photobucket and pretty much anything with pictures. :BangPC:

Just patiently look for another machine to start with, there are too many improvements required to correct the one you have.

I just saw a set of shifter forks and rods go for 4.99 on ebay. Also a complete set of all internal parts for a cub tranny for 5.59. Sounds like you're gonna need a new coupler and clutch shaft. You won't have a problem finding parts, i'm sure the sponsors at the top of the page can help you with anything you need. Depends on the condition of the transmission case itself. I cracked open a 124 rearend that was full of water and some funky looking fluid, gears look okay though. I'm gonna use them if they're in good condition.
