Cub 169
I am going to look at a Cub 169 this weekend, and have been told a lot of people like to make another cub look like a 169. Can you guys give m some tips on trying to figure out if it is a 169. Thanks, sorry no pics.

Big air cleaner and big muffler.

It is true that 169's have the larger air cleaner and bigger muffler. It may or may not have those. To be sure it's a true 169, look at the serial number. It would have a kind/model code of 0048 towards the beginning of the number. The serial number should look something like this: 2050048UXXXXXX. Good luck and keep us posted!

Count the head bolts, should be 10 not 9.

Here are some pics of the air cleaner, hour meter and large muffler on my 169. They all had these with lights as a standard. It could have a manual lift and still be correct.

Do all 169's have the hour meter or was that an option?
|
All of the 169's i have seen had the hour meter.

They were all supposed to have the Maintenance Minder but some people take them off for some unknown reason

Nice find! Hope to see more pics when you get it. I just picked up three this month, they are a very collectible tractor to own. Soon to be 4 here in the next couple days...stay tuned.
