100 creeper help, please

Hi, guys. I'm in the process of putting my 100 back together and have run into a problem with a creeper gear that I bought on e-bay. The seller informed me that the unit was missing one snap ring (I didn't know which one), and wanted to know if I still wanted it. I did, so I bought it. Now when I mount it on the front of the transaxle, with the shifter lever forward, I can turn the front shaft and watch the gears in the trans turn. However, when I pull the shifter back, it hits the front of the transmission and locks up. I looked in the manual, and it says to remove the large snap ring on the front of the creeper gear, and the bearing assembly should slide out. I believe this is the snap ring that is missing. The bearing assembly will move about 1/8 of and inch, and thats all. I want to check the insides of the assembly and make sure everything is right. I can't figure out how to get this apart. I can't even see where the groove is for the front snap ring. Here are a couple of pics, and hoping one of the creeper gurus can help. Does this slide out in the direction the arrow is pointing? Thanks , any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Mike

There should be a snap ring here.

Here is the creeper I took apart on my 126. There is a big ring that holds it together in the first pic. The 2nd is the small one for the bearing and the 3rd is the assembly removed. The large O ring in the last pic is the seal and makes it hard to get apart.

It looks to me like my front snap ring is the one that's missing. Do I dare tap on the back end of the shaft to see if I can get the front bearing to move forward? It doesn't look that hard to take apart if I can get the front bearing out. Thanks, Mike

I had a heck of a time finding that big snap ring but then rf houtz and sons had one. Id try them to see if they still do since that part is NLA

Thanks for the info, guys. The problem is that I can't move the bearing at the front end of the creeper. I can't push it in so I can see the groove for the snap ring, and it won't come out. It will move in and out about maybe 1/8 of an inch. Isn't the snap ring the only thing that holds it in, or am I missing something else? Mike
