125 , Things Im Working On (Fixing)
6 Attachment(s)
I think I found some more of the PO's cob work. I have tons of slop at the pivot point. I was going to shim it but found this piece (looks like) drive shaft in it with a 1/4" bolt holding it in. Id think it should be a bolt. right?
the spindels have play in them too. Im going to get some 1" shim bushings and drill the holes in the axle to fit the shim and press them in. that should take out the play in them. I'll do the same to the rear hitch , the holes in the frame that the rod rubs on. the frame holes are egg shaped. might just weld them and re-drill the holes and make a new rod. I installed the spring assist , thats a tight fit. new pump filter , as it looked like it was put on with channel lock pliers. :bash2: new fan and should installed |

a few more pics, I know how we love pics.
by the time im done fixing things , this cub will have all new paint on it . lol |
Looks like progress, Doug! Keep it going, I need the inspiration to get my 125 split and clean up my hydro. I want to see how your spindle slop repairs go, too. Always wondered how to shim or fix the slop in the stems...

The filter was so tight on my 125 that I bent my filter wrench. I had to borrow the spring one from a friend to get it off. I thought for sure my long handle rachet was going to bust.

That front axle pin is factory I don`t think they started putting bolts in them until the 82 series .

Thats what all my cubs are getting when I get around to it. |
Good work already! It's always "interesting" to observe shadetree work... less interesting to fix it sometimes!
