Is an all original 782 worth.... (update...think I'll buy it!..pic inside)
$1300? All original 782 with the seriesII engine. 44" deck. Looks good...Runs good. 1983 model.
Need quick advice! Thank you! http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...lh1963/782.jpg http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/j...1963/782-1.jpg |
I just paid 375 for an 1983 782 w/a very rough 50 inch and a good running series 2 engine. It was at an auction. A good tractor but it has sat out for quite awhile. Body straight, but paint wasn't that good. hope this helps.

This one looks good but is not mint. Around 700 hours. Internet search shows prices everywhere. Looks like it is ready to go and would not need any restoration for quite a while. I see them needing engine work for $600 and nices ones for $1900.

To each his own; if you think its a good price, BUY IT! :beerchug:

I will say the 82 series GT's are very nice. Smooth engine, lots of power and well look great too. If it is in as good a shape as you say and the price doesn't bother you, get it. You can always start at a lower price and haggle a bit. Can you get a pic of it and the serial number?

It looks great but I think it's too high.

Where should it be, pricewise?

:biggrin2: Normally Duke and I agree on a lot of things, but this time I have to say I am the opposite. Go find something for sale at the big stores for $1300 and tell me what you find. Absolutely nothing worth even sitting on. With this you can plow, disc, till, use a push blade, and with good preventative maintenance have the 782 30 years from now still going strong. Just my 2 cents. I like to save $$ more than the next guy, but am willing to spend a bit more $$$ to have something dependable and made to last. But also, those things are hard to find around here, so I am used to a bit higher price on these great Cubs than some that have more availability in their area. Sorry Duke. :beerchug:
