want to switch out cast grill
I have a 128 wide frame and want to replace the 25 lb cast grill with an aluminum one. Does anyone know which one has about the same dimentions as the cast one?

You could always get the bottom part of a grille casting from a later Quietline cub, they were aluminum. Great to see another NC member. I'm near Fayetteville.

You have to go beyond the Quietline to get a light grill. http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/...006640x459.jpg (That's rust!!) Yea, I'm, neglectful!! I left it out in the rain one night and the cast iron rusted!! I like the heavy grill, its like free front end weight. Why would you want it lighter!!?? :bigthink:  |
CAD, the later QL's had the bottom grilles made out of aluminum.

I think they are referring to the housing. :beerchug:

You might want to reconsider that move.
The cast grill was heavy for a reason. COUNTERWEIGHT to keep the front end on the ground when pulling hard. ole 147 |
