When working on the trunion I noticed that on the rear of the transmission there is a hole in the (what appears to be) the output shaft. Is this for some type of PTO?

I don't think so, but mine have the same hole, and I never thought of it till you said something.

I'm not sure why they did that, but there aren't any rear PTO's for the QL's that I am aware of.

Also noticing a good powerwashing of that pump unit will help the cooling some :biggrin2:. Just don't paint the fins or pump.

Paint helps retain heat inside the aluminum housing. And they weren't painted from the factory. Same goes for the head on the engine too. Shouldn't be painted.

I have seen a cooling fan on that stub shaft when they install those hydros in Green tractors.
Prolly' easier to have one design, keeping production costs down.
