The PTE "O" is finally home

Well, I have wanted an "O" since I was a kid back in the 70's (my Grand Father had one) and I had to sell one to get one so my JD went to it's new home last weekend and I have been looking at this one since last year so PaulS and I went to look at it today and decided that this one would be a good start to fix up. Here it is just after we loaded it up.

And here are a few pics after we got him home.

It is a little rough around the edges and is going to need work but that's why I love these tractors. "O" and the serial # is 2167.

Looks like a great project. Great find also they are pretty hard to find.

Yep that be it all right. The seller did not quite meet our price but threw in a set of O front wheels because the ones on it are not O. Oh boy this is going to be fun. With a ser # this low it was made in Feb 61 it runs too, that is how we loaded it. We are pleased to say the least. The deck has no rust holes. We really did find a honey hole as he has several Os and many others, he is a buyer and seller. I have never seen a bigger parts lot for cadets than he has it must cover near an acre.

Glad you got a nice original, especially after all of that wait! Sounds like you took advantage of the other guy, after all you got a cub and he got a JD. That has a nice deck and a very low serial number, so you'll have a nice one once you put some work into it---but hey, what could be better than sippin' on a cold one and working on a cub with a buddy! :beerchug:

Looks like there are several other cubs in the background of that nice cub hauler that you have there!!

Eric, Congrats on a four digit! Now comes the cool part! My O is #2146, yours is #2167 and Cub Crazy Mike's is #2171 and all three of them were on the line at the same time! The line could hold 60 tractors at a time.

Welcome to the four digit club! We need more pics!

Looks like you had your pick of several cubs!

Thanks guys, yeah Cub Cadet 123, the guy we got this one from has a bone yard of cubs old and new. Duke, I thought the same thing when I looked up the serial # and seen the number in your sig line and just about fell off my chair,. Ron, the guy we got this one from has a few other O's but WAY out of my price range, but will make this tractor as close to new but with a few of our own little twists. Will have more pics as my Dad and I start digging into it.
