Free tractor parts question.

First off I just want to say I am NOT going green. I am die hard cub cadet. But I just couldn't pass up a free tractor (JD model 400). I have no desire to get this running but was curious as to what parts might interchange and didnt know if any of you guys have had any experience with these (what parts are worth keeping)? I was interested in it for the hydraulic lift/steering system it still has on it. It also has a blown up kohler K532 (I think thats the correct model #). Will any of these kohler parts interchange with the KT or mag series engines that came in the 82 series cubs? Thanks for any help Wally

Blasphemy!!! That's what those pictures are........part it/scrap it all and use the money to get more cubs/cub parts!! Some good can come from that mistake....You can't possibly want to put any of those parts on a cub and ride with pride!!!!:BB&YS:

The K532 is a completely different engine than the KT-17, so I doubt anything would interchange.

I agree, plus it looked like the thing went up in smoke (not that im complaining :biggrin2:) The only possible part I would keep would be the wheels and tires, and i would part out as much as possible then send the rest to scrap yard.

Number one rule If it's free it's for me :biggrin2:

Those 400 series tractors are the JD equivalent to our supers. Believe it or not they are well worth parting out. Whatever you do , do not send it to the scrap yard.

those bring big money running or not...dont send it to the scrap yard or someone else might have a big payday.

i cant tell from the pics, but if it has the 3 hydraulic levers on it, then thats a huge plus. take the valve, levers, hard lines and coupler plate off that tractor and put it on ebay and watch as it gets almost $400
