109 refurbishment
Well I've been lurking(and learning) here for a while, thought it was time to contribute a little. This is a first refurb of a cub for me so I'll most likely be stumbling thru it. I am sure the good folks here Will keep me on the straight and narrow.:Choke:
Anyhow here is what I started with: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...Cub/Mom003.jpg http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...t109avatar.jpg http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...Cub/Mom010.jpg A couple of things needing attention I noticed right away: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...Cub/Mom023.jpg The VR was looking rather nasty so a new one was purchased, and below the PTO turnbuckle was stripped on one end(That will receive attn. later) http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...Cub/Mom024.jpg More to follow.... P.S. The timestamp on my camera is wrong and I need a teen to set it for me! LOL |
Looks like you have a good base to start with Saltydawg, good luck with the rebuild.

Next came the fenders:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...ubCadet002.jpg The battery box was in bad shape from what looks to have been a leaky battery. http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...Cub/Mom012.jpg bottom view: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...ubCadet001.jpg It got a new bottom welded in: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/bbde754f.jpg http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/b532e4b3.jpg I've also done a little sanding on it: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/30bf2fb5.jpg http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/f1a46fff.jpg More to come... |

Next I split the tractor:
http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/49a309d5.jpg http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/9f35f215.jpg Ran into another needed repair: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/19ff9668.jpg The left side front mounting bracket was broke, but the right side was ok. http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...b/9346422f.jpg I believe I have located another bracket from one of the fine members here. I have several parts in my electrolysis tank now being derusted: http://i351.photobucket.com/albums/q...Cadet002-1.jpg And that's where I am on it as of today, more later.... |
Your making awesome progress! Keep up with the pics and updates!:beerchug:

Looking great, nice tractor to do a resto on.
:beerchug: |
You've been busy! Thanks for the pics.

Excellent start. You had a good cub to start with. That helps a lot. I have got to read on the electrolysis thing and get one set up, so I can get some of the model 73 tins and stuff cleaned up for priming and painting.
