just asking a question

I was wondering why are the snow plows & blowers so crazy priced? I had my 149 on here it was totally redone & had a snow plow & blower & i only wanted $800.00 & couldn't get that. The snow blowers (450-451-551) are going for $700.00 -$1000.00 & Haban plows are $600.00 to $900.00. I think there should be some kind of reality set here ? I mean I know you can ask what you want for your stuff but come on, it's like people have fallen and hit there heads! You can buy another tractor for that !!!!! :bash2:

Check on those prices in July and August.

Its the middle of winter, snow removal equipment prices go up.

How many of those Haben plows and "super" snow blowers have you had the chance to buy for less then that ? Try finding one, you will pay the price if and when you find them. You will be very, very fortunate to find a Haben power angle plow for less then $500.

Another thing to remember is that because it is worth something to you doesn't mean it is worth anything to me.

I just picked up a 60" haban power angle plow for $400 and the guy was nice enough to throw in a 1572 smoker. It's all of being in the right time and place. I went to an auction 3 yrs ago and and picked up 2 451 throwers and a 450 for $135. Sold the 450 and made my money back and a little spare change to boot.

Yea, it's kinda like snowmobiles. As soon as the season rolls around, prices get jacked. You want to buy boats and campers in the winter and snow equipment and sleds in the summer. Also what the guys are saying, being at the right place at the right time for a deal. Deals are out there but you have to look. Have you ever tried searchtempest.com for Craigslist? It's a search engine for CL. Makes looking for something in multiple states way easier.

I'll be honest with 72-149, I would have bought your 149 for 800 bucks in a heartbeat but didn't have the money at the time. Worried about the wife, you know??? What you end up selling it for if you don't mind me asking?

Guys like me and you see the value in these older tractors that are built like brick ---- houses. And you re did it... People not knowing any better think that just because it's not new it's not worth it. Plus a lot of people today always want something for nothing. I bought my 1250 with the 44" mower and 42" thrower for $900. Everything was in great shape except for the deck which I now have apart and have to finish rebuilding. It's worth what the person wants to pay for it and how bad he wants/needs it....Good luck in your search.

A person can get lucky now and then and get a good price for an item. But the norm with Super GT implements and such is that the cost is going to be much higher than for a standard GT, 30+ years or not. Looks like you made an excellent deal on that. Also again, location, condition, and availability play a big part in the price of an object. Just because you won't pay it, doesn't mean someone else won't.

They could be 50 plus yrs old but are still built better than anything on the market today. Probably outlast anything sold new. I fail to see your point. Suppose I could buy your Maverick for lets say 500. Thats 30-40 years old. Same difference.
