QA36A doesnt throw far and clogs quickly
My snow thrower doesn't throw snow very far, maybe about 12 inches and it clogs up very quick. I have the chute painted and it has some EZ-Slide from Tractor Supply on it and it still doesn't throw far. What is the problem?

If your going too slow or its not pushing enough snow through it, it will not throw it very far at all. Also make sure your drive belt is not loose!

the belt is tight i will have to try going faster it's the first winter I've used it.

Are you running at full throttle, and is the engine running at 3600 RPM at full throttle?
You also have to vary your ground speed such that the thrower stays full...when the engine is just tugging on the governor, it's just right. |
Agree with Matt for full throttle. I know on mine if I have the chute to low it dosen't seem to throw as good? Curious what tractor you using dosen't matter just like to see pics! LOL Lot depends to on if the snow is really wet, i keep my chute pretty steep when its wet? Heres mine 3-4" but not to wet? You learn real quick which way the wind is blowing!

If his belt is tight and running at full throttle his PTO might be slipping a little bit or maybe a lot. As everyone has already stated ground speed and snow conditions play a big factor in how well it works. I myself have a special PTO that I use for snow throwing. Modified so to speak. I cut out the belt groove to take a 5/8th inch belt and I put double pressure springs in it as well. Gets the job done.
