trouble shooting a 125

Last Saturday I hooked up the snow thrower and am checking every thing to make sure if we ever get snow here in PA, I am ready. I started up the old girl and it is purring like a kitten. After it was warmed up a bit I run it up wide open and it sounds good for about 30 seconds and it was like you turned the key off.

It was late and I put it off until tonight to troubleshoot it. I had power going into and out of the coil but no spark at the plug. I decided to take a wild shot at a plug wire, so I get a new wire i had bought just to have a spare. And a new plug and just laid it on the head, blue sparks a flying.

I switched out the old for new and am back in business, one thing you have to say about the older ones is that the older they are the simpler they are to track down the problems. The next thing to do is a valve job when time permits and I will be good to go.:biggrin2:

Check the plug wire and the plug. Oh you already did that. Don't you just hate it when someone posts a problem and already has the answer before they finish the post especially when I finally find something I actually have an answer to. Just kidding. Nice looking 125. Do you live anywhere near central PA?

I had the wire fall out of the crimp connector on the coil of a QL1000 a week or so ago.

New connector, some heat shrink, a quick wire strip and crimp and the old technology was running!!

Yep, old is good!!

Funny. First time I read the title on this thread, I thought, "Now why would anybody want to shoot a 125?"

It's early here in Va.:Forgot:
