oil leak and charging test
Hi everyone, I finally got my 1220 started and running good. After rebuilding the carb, I had plenty of fuel, spark, and compression but not running so I pulled the flywheel and there was my problem- sheared flywheel key. After replacing that it started up on the first try. Now I have a small oil leak coming from the tube on the breather going to the carb, and I had the breather off before, checking the fitting out which gives the fuel pump its vacuum, and the tube appeared to be in good shape. Is there suppose to be very much oil in there or maybe high engine cavity pressure, or maybe there is a small drain hole that is plugged. I am also wondering about the charging system, the amp gage is reading about a 1/2 amp when running. I will disconnect the gage and put a amp meter in series to check it again, but is there other checks I can do like the stator or voltage regulator/alternator? The B/S model # is 281707-type 0134-01 code 88021011. Thanks
