Thanks, I have many questions, Just to sum up a little generator not charging,
pto clutch running all the time. the biggest is the drive shaft is welded up in that knuckle that is supposed to have a pin. will a weld work? just got the machine.

To check the generator on your 149. Remove the field (yellow) wire from the generator. Start the tractor and touch the removed wire to ground. If you hear it start to pull down it is working and the cause is most likely the voltage regulator.

A pto that always spins most likely has a bad bearing.
