1650 !!! What year
 
I bought a 1650 almost complete and I find there is no serial number on this machine to tell me the year of it . I have a # on the eng (9696902). Can anyone tell by the eng number? There is no tags anywhere or numbers stamped in frame . What year is it ? My next question is can I run it with out the eng covers as they did not come with cadet? Thanks

Looks like 1979.
You can run it without the covers but it does run cooler with them on.

The tag should be near the brake pedal unless someone removed it. It's best to run with the side covers on. Call or email one of our fine site sponsers or place a want ad to locate some.

The Quietline Series was made between Oct '74 to Sep of '79.

This is where the tag was located when it rolled out of the factory.....
