129 Cub Cadet
my carb is worn out! Put a aqs carb off a 1200 on her and it runs for a little while. Seems like it gets hot and stalls. havent had time to adjust her yet. Was wondering if anybody has tried this already ? If so any tips.? The choke dont work the same as the 26 carb its reverse operation. I cant get to her till monday..

Welcome
:Welcome2:
Providing the carbs are both from 12hp K-engines they should be closely matched as far as fuel supply and power curve. If you have the engine #s I am sure someone here could say for sure. Is the stalling issue a new condition since you replaced the carb? FYI: your 129 should be posted in the IH GT section, A moderator will help w/that. |
Kohler used two different vendors for their carbs. One was Carter (Kohler owned) and the other was Walbro.
If you put a Walbro Carb on in place of a Carter Carb, you may have issues. A picture of both carbs would be helpful. BTW.....Welcome to OCC..............:Welcome2: |
both are 12 hp. the 26 is a carter and the one off the aqs is a walbro. I was having problems before the swap out. Thanks for your help. and i on the right post ?? lol

Personally speaking, I much prefer the Carter carb. I would buy, a good used one or a new replacement.
