Is my cub 149 not worth $800.00? What's the deal every body wants to give me $400 to $600 for it? Am I crazy for thinking that with all that's done to it & the price of attachments? Man what's the deal? :bigthink: :bigthink: :angry: :angry:

I personally believe it's worth the money. I am in the same shoes as you. I am trying to sell my 124 locally with a qa42 and a 36" deck and have had no bites yet. The economy still isn't in the best of shape and the holidays are closing in pretty fast. That's what I'm chalking up to anyways. I also have another project that needs funds for so I am trying to sell stuff to buy new toys. Good luck.:beerchug:

I am not dissing yours or anybody's work, but, people that want to pay over $600 for a Cub are looking for a "factory" machine, not a reconstruct.

Yours is probably better than any factory garage queen out there, but, as soon as people see new paint and anything not stock, they worry.

You have a valuable machine, why would you want to let it go for only $800??

It is easily worth $4000 to you! That is why you built it. Why would you want to let it go? "Another project" is not a good answer to a prospective customer.

"Another project" means this one is not good enough.

Since you want to jump ship on this project, maybe you took shortcuts to finish it.

When that "another project" is done, you will wish the 149 was back for $800!!

Keep that baby in the stable, you will be happier in the long run!!

Probably none of what I have stated above is true with your 149, but, it goes through the purchaser's head.

Now if you wait long enough, the "barefoot pilgrim" will show up. Then a $1500 price tag is not high enough, the machine will sell.

Will you take a 108 as partial trade??

Hi Bob, I think i know you. We did some parts swappin? It's a shame the parts, money and time we put into these and then can't hardly break even. Nice powder coat job, i just think you just want something bigger. Mike

It is a very bad time of year to try and sell a nice cub at premium price. Everyone wants deals in the off season. If most people are like me, for that kind of money, personally, I want it to look complete and by that I mean, the correct seat, correct decals where every decal should be and the front lug wheels scream modification, which makes me wonder what else has been modified or changed. Don't get me wrong I think you have done a great job on the 149 and yes it is probably worth the money, I am just playing devil's advocate and speaking on what I think some of the selling problem might be.

i would but i was trying to sell it for the $800.00 to get a 1872 for $700.00 ,i also was trying to put my 982 together .need a motor for it .thanks for the thought
