782 Hydro Whine
 

This hydro whine on my 782 is bad i have 1811 and 1282 they are much quieter than the 782 i know there MTD built ( 1811-1282 ) But the 782 will just whine idleing high or low speed The fluid is ok it has hi tran in it i wonder if i should service it and put new filter on it or if it is a bad bearing in the pump but its really loud thats for sure any help i would appericate

My 1811 had a bad hydro whine when I first got it. I changed the filter and that didnt help much. Then I decided to replace the fluid and filter again and now its much more quiet than it was and seems to respond better. I used hytran ultra and a napa/wix 1410 filter. I have also owned a 1450 and a 149 and their hydros seem quieter than the the one in the 1811. I would change the fluid and filter again and see if this helps.

One thing I have noticed ,if your neutral is not adjusted perfect.The trans is trying to go forward or reverse while the brake pedal is locked down it will whine more.Easy to check and adjust hope you get it figgured out.
