What oil do you use in your K241/301?

I need to buy some oil, is straight 30 the best, the Kohlar manual says that.

What do you prefer for a hard working tractor?

How much do they hold the manual says 1 to 1 3/4 quarts.

I did a search here on oil and found nothing, seems odd.

Thanks

I found this infomation in Only Cub Cadets Techinical Library:

I use straight 30 Valvoline dino oil in my Cubs in the summer. Any Small motor that gets used in the wintertime uses 10W-30 Valvoline.

I also use straight 30 weight oil, in my 100's motor.

Oil is the blood of the engine!

I use 30 wt. pure synthetic in my K301 engine since it doesn't have a filter and it isn't cooled, other than just the air hitting it. I have noticed that the viscocity of the synthetic has held up great under heat and use. Sure it costs more, but isn't your cub worth it? haha...

Good ole 30 weight.
They don't seem to like the high detergent. I'm not sure why that is?

Right or wrong, I've been using rotella straight 30 in alot of my older stuff.

I also use straight 30 weight oil, I don't know if they make any other kind, but HD 30 is a tough oil, HD stands for heavy duty (this is for commercial use most of the time, and will make the high priced synthetic oils look bad price wise on oil analysis) I prefer Delo 400 or Shell Rotella in the gallon jugs.
