Starter/Generator Rebuild ?

Where's the best place to get them rebuilt, at the cheapest price? I live in Michigan, but can ship it out also. thanks for info Chris

Do you have a local auto parts store that rebuilds starters at their store? I would check there first.

What do you guys usually do when they go bad? buy new? thought I would get more response on this? Thanks for the info though! Chris

Well Chris "bad" means a lot of different things. Any single part that fails makes the unit bad. If what went bad can be replaced by you then it will cost less for you to fix it. Everyone has different abilities, knowledge and tools. So for some replacing the field coils my be a piece of cake. For others it is time to take it to the shop. I know this does not help you. But I see others have given you sage advice. I guess this is my post explaining why I did not respond sooner.
