Wiring gremlin, Need Help!
1 Attachment(s)
I'm just trying to test the engine, but I have no spark. Here is how I have it wired for a test fire. I am basing this off this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfuSEie3rHM but for some reason I still have no park, everything is grounded. All suggestions are welcome (wiring GRRRRR):BlahBlah:

Bad switch? Bad wiring? Do you have 12V at the coil? Points clean? Coil, plug, and plug wire good?

Well, you need to find out if you or not...no amount of speculation on anyone's part is going to do any good if you don't check stuff.
New points need to be cleaned either with contact cleaner or by running some paper between them to remove any oily residue from the factory. |
Had the same problem with my 124 - I put a spark tester in line with the plug then went to checking connections. I found the switch connectors were "almost" clean, but not good enough. Small file and clean all connectors, switch terminals, and every connection worked wonders. When I hooked the battery back up :Explode: just right.

Matt is right on the oily points. I was not getting correct reading on OHM meter till I ran some paper through the points to remove the oil. Electrical is not my thing either.
Hope you get it figured out. Regards, Chris |
