1450 control Valve Spool Screw
I was mowing yesterday and when I went to lift the deck the handle came all the way back. Hmmm I pulled it into the garage and the hydro fluid was running everywhere. fortunately I only drove it 30 feet. Seems as though the screw for the bottom of the spool vibrated out and has gone missing. After I replace the O rings does anyone know what a suitable replacement screw would be?

Here is a image of the Control Valve. Which part are you referencing...??

#7 the valve body looks more like the 149 (flat) assembly. The spool likes like the lower one in the picture. The screw appears to be around the 8-32 size but I am unsure as the length? The end of the spool is threaded and thats what keep the spool from exiting the top of the valve when one pulls the handle. thanks for the help.

The imaged valve is what was used on the 1450. Now if some has modified the Control Valve and used something different. Then I don't know how to help you.
The Spool Screw is IH-674491-R1 which is NLA from Cub Cadet. You may have to look around salvage yards to find one. Or, replace the entire spool valve. The 149 used the same Control Valve as the 1450. |
Standard O rings from hardware and 8-32 bolt 1/2 in long threadlocker and a washer and Im back in the game. Im the third owner and who knows who did what. These valves are common and they used standard parts thankfully.
The cub website shows both types of control valves for the 149. The 1450 only shows the one one you have pictured. thanks for the info. total cost 2.19 and i used stainless bolt and washer. LOL |
