QA-42A top link dimensions?

Only one more item that needs attending to on this new to me QA-36A snow thrower. The operators manual gives two desciptions for this piece..."top link and lift strap". At any rate, the ones on this unit were fabricated by the previous owner and appear to be too long.

Are the dimensions the same as the holes on the lift bracket?
Can anyone supply the distance (on center) of the two holes in the top link?

Regards, Guido

Maybe this will help....

Thx Roland,
I do have the break down and the operators manual. They do not give dimensions though.

I may have to remove the deck and mount it to the 127 and see how the wear edge rests on the pavement.
Should the wear edge rest flat or raked forward?

Regards, Guido

I mounted the blower and it does appear to canting forward a bit. The links I have measure 12" on center.
I think 11 3/8" looks more like what it needs.

Your thoughts?

Guido

BTW: quick attach my foot... it won't come off.

i agree with the quick attach crap. it took me two hours to put mine on.

Do this and you can roll the tractor in and out of it...it takes longer to put the belt on than put the attachment on the tractor.

Donovan: Getting it on was a breeze. Much easier than the dozer blade. Removing it was another story. The pins were stuck that slip into the QA assy. I wound up removing them to get it loose.

Matt: The top links that came with this unit do not have the provision to use the link as a jack. This is one of the reasons I am looking for the dimensions.

Dimensions please... Bueller, Bueller
