QA42A on a 1772?

I would like to use my QA42A on my 1772. Does this blower fit a 1772? I previously used it on my 107 but was kinda disappointed in the performance and thought maybe I'll give it a shot on the bigger one. Currently I use a blade on the 1772 but it doesn't perform very well after the city truck plows half the snow from the street onto the sidewalk. Any info and suggestions would be appreciated.

It will either hit the front tires, not reach the ground, or both. You need a 364, 450, or H48.

That's what I was afraid of. Glad I asked first. Thanks.

Any thing is possible. If you really want to run it on the 1772 I'm sure with enough patience and skill it would be possible.

Another thing I did not think of initially is that the driveshaft from the gearbox to the small auger sprocket would probably be at a much sharper angle than it would be installed on the tractors it was meant for. My 782 lifts my QA36A high enough that the U-joints get noisy when the angle of the driveshaft reaches a certain point, so I have to be careful not to lift it that high with it in operation.

Anything is not possible; furthermore, many things are not practical. Yeah, he could probably make new longer parallel arm linkage, move the gearbox down to eliminate the U-joint binding issue, but it would probably take 40+ hours of work, a bunch of steel, and probably a longer (expensive) U-joint driveshaft to do it. Nobody's time is worthless...even at minimum wage that time is nearly $300, which is nearly what the correct attachment costs...

I guess that depends on what you consider work or play?:biggrin2:
