1220 electrical

Another new guy from michigan, just got a free 1220 from a old guy down the road. He said the motor was bad and I have a almost new motor on a 95 Husky, so I took it as a project, but all I really want is a mower to take up to my 10 acres in northern Michigan. I was looking for a electrical diagram for this tractor, the first thing I discovered was the solenoid was missing as I tried to hook up a battery and the thing was turning over pretty good and creeping forward. It has been sitting inside for about 4 or 5 years. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to our Forum.........:Welcome2:

There are two different Wiring Diagrams for the 1220 depending on the chassis serial number. What is your Serial Number...???

The serial number on my 1220 is 132720.

Thanks a lot for the wiring schematic R Bedell. I see you are from mid Michigan, I live in Owosso. I put a solenoid on the tractor and can at least turn it over by the key now, but I suspect the n/c seat switch is stuck or broke since it doesn't open when I set in the seat. I would of thought that switch would of been a n/o switch, but thanks for the help and I'm sure I will be posting again.

Noodle:

I "assume" your 1220 rolls over but will not start.

The Seat Switch has nothing to do with the motor starting up. It is a Elec PTO safety device.

IF the above condition exists, I would suggest checking the Ignition Switch.
