Hytran leak in the 127

Hi Guys!! Well earlier today I after moving my 127 out of the barn I noticed a wet spot on the floor where it was. I checked the back end of the tractor and noticed the brake was all "wet" looking and shiny. Hmmmm not good I thought. I ran my hand along it and sure as crap it was oil or something. I ran my hand along the bottom of the axle from the caliper towards the rear end and what do ya know? Red Hytran fluid was on my fingers. I will admit that I NEVER have worked on a tractor before and have absolutely no clue WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED OR WHERE THE LEAK IS. I bought this baby to be my learnin tractor and that's what I am gonna do.
So there's the longwinded problem. I can use the help with ideas as to what happened and how to fix it?
Thanks guys and have a great night!!!! I will. :beerchug:

hello

maybe an axel seal,or number 25 in the top picture, the cover plate.Ill let you know i am not farmiliar with an external brake system and what could leak down on it,from the pictures it doesnt look like the hydro sits near where the breaks would be,but maybe a trunion seal or the seal between the hydro and rear.
For some reason the pictures came out real small but i can get a bigger one if you want me to point out the seals.

Another thought, clean it up real good and run it a bit ,then see if you could spot the leak,re reading your post it almost sounds like, the seal between the hydro and rear # 26 in the top picture
BUT it could come from a few orafices!!LOL
Id clean it real good run it shut it off and investigate so you are SURE what seal or gasket to repace, cause there is a bunch!!!

It's a bad axle seal. It's easy to fix...drain the oil, remove the rear cover, remove the c-clip from the offending axle, pull the axle out, replace the seal, and put it back together.

Thanks you guys a bunch. Jason, thanks for posting photos, that always helps me. Matt the axle seal makes sense. Now, are you talking about the oil seal at the end of the axle carrier? If so, it seems to be an easy fix!! (I have the service manual and I'm looking at section 2-34) Have a great day guys!!:beerchug:
