loading tires ?

I am going to fill the tires on my 1211 with windshield washer fluid. I would like to here how some of you have gone about doing this.

I used a rather large (6" or so) PVC pipe with a cleanout plug on one end and a cap on the other, with the cap drilled for a barb fitting for some clear hose to go to the valve stem. I put a tire valve in the cleanout plug, and applied about 10 psi to this with a gallon of fluid it. Works pretty good, you just have to burp the tire once in awhile.

Don't forget the tubes unless you have Tru-powers or something similarly stiff with a thick bead that can't be knocked off.

Joe, break the bead on one side and pore it in then put the air back in it. They also sell a valve at TSC for 10 bucks that you put on the stem and hook a hose to it and fill it through the stem, and the valve lets the air out. But it take quite a while to do it that way.

MATT,
It is going the stock turf tires, and they have tubes.

JR,
I picked up the valve from TSC. Just not sure how to effectively use the garden hose thread side of it. I may take it to Home Depot tomorrow and see what kind of cluster of fittings I can come up with to adapt it to a container I have laying around here.

Probably less expensive to get a drill powered cheapo pump @ the hwd store and use the garden hose fittings.
Automatic washer hoses work well and always somebody throwing them away with an old washer.
do a search here, lots of posts on the subject.

This is the setup i use for mine.
Got the valve that threads on the valve stem at TSC.
The little pump came from the hardware store (need a drill to power it)
I fill a 5 gallon bucket with washer fluid and use a short hose from the washing machine from the bucket to the pump, and from the pump to the tire with a short garden hose.

I have used this setup on 5 sets of ags of my own, plus filled a few sets for others.

I got it now, thanks guys. Hopefully in the next couple days I will get to it.

Diz, Your way is how I will do mine when the time comes!!

About a month and a half ago Menards had washer fluid on sale for $.89/gal IIRC. It didn't even cross my mind to stock up!:bash2: Oh well, it will come again (but not often).

i know for putting in green slim or other form of sealent in tires i am not the most patient person and am to lazy to squeeze the bottle, i just put the filler tude on the valve stem and at the bottle i poke a small hole in the bottem and give it a shot through a blow gun.

the same can be done with gallon size jugs or even larger ones if you have, just like matt says you have to back off every so often to allow the air in the tire to back out of the tire. i am alll about fast cheap and easy here.

you just need to line up a filler tube and adapt it to the jug lid and if you want to refill it just duct tape the hole shut, oh and do not try to put like 100psi to the container or you may wind up covered with fluid from a jug that blows up. 5-10 psi is pleanty

Yamaguy
I know what you mean, I have been trying to stock up when i see it on sale.
