Model 86 ?
 

Any opinions on this model ? I've run across an 86 , motor in pieces (not torn apart but rather blown apart) . Tractor seems to be in great shape other than that . Just wondering if a 18 mag would slip into this and would the gears hold up ?

This would be a freebie BTW, so no big costs involved

M18 will not fit without destroying the frame. The 86 is somewhat rare (about 8300 or so made). The engine will have a crankshaft and S/G brackets that are specific to the engine in an 86.

So is this Cub worth restoring in your opinion ?
