How to save on gas.....take a horse to Wal-Mart!
 

I saw this at my local Wal-Mart this morning and I had to snap a picture so that others would believe me!! What is odd is that 2 hours later, I saw them riding along the ditch a few miles away!!

It's a common sight where I live to see an Amish horse and buggy tied up at a light pole in the Walmart parking lot.

Back when I lived near Boonville ,Mo they had a amish tie up to the light poles too! Grocery store had hitching post!

CC123 - That's a great shot - and Hoo-Boy . . . I been there and done that (not at Wally World tho).

Back in my '20s I rode my horse for most o' my short trips to the grocery store or to pick up a pack of smokes. Even back then it sure got a lot of looks when 3 or 4 of us were tying our horses up outside the store. The way folk drive today and most of them only having seen a horse on TV, you couldn't pay me to ride on the road now!:bigeyes:

Somewhere in our travels this summer we stopped at a Walmart in Indiana (I am thinking Elkhart, maybe) that had a horse and buggy shed for all their customers who drove black buggies to the store. I wonder who got the cleanout job? :bigthink:
