The ones I get from my Cub dealer is what I use, have not had any trouble with them.

I read this cool thread on building your own tie rods with parts from McMaster-Carr.

It seems like I read another thread showing an end they sell that bolts right up to your rods.

Nice article Dave. I purchased the same tie rod ends (PN 60645K441) from McMaster Carr and used them with my stock tie rods. They work great. Received them the next day after placing my order. I recommend those. Just my :TwoCents:

The Heim joints from McMaster-Carr are the way to go.

zippy1-

You're throwing money away by using those. For what CC charges for one of those, you can buy two Heim joints from McMaster-Carr that are vastly superior, or you can also buy the OEM style for much less. What does CC charge for those, about $12 each?

Matt, I get them for $9 each. I didn't know, I thought that was a fair price.
By the way, that's my local dealer that's three miles away. So no shipping, and it's $9 cash. But I'll consider the others if there's that much of a differance in price.

McM's Heim joints are $6.08 each (or were last time I bought some). Once you pay tax on the other ones, the total amount may be similar. There's also a lot of other useful stuff (brake lining, wire loom, hydro cam plate shims to name a few) you can get on McM's site, as well. If you're retrofitting more than one tractor, the savings increases even more by going with the heim joints.

I'm surprised your dealer doesn't charge shipping, as most of them do now.

Todd, I don't know if there's a Tractor Supply by you, but you can get 2 for $12.99.

I buy almost everything from my dealer. We most times round out the price to the closest dollar. If it's 10.30 I pay 10.00, next time it may be 10.75 I give him 11.00. It works out for both of us. And the joints are $9.00 out the door, and I don't have to wait for the shipping.
I try to get what I can from him, keep the small guy around, or if we don't, you know how it goes?
So far I've found little that I could buy someplace else much cheaper, he's been a dealer for a little better than sixteen years, and there isn't much he don't have on the shelves which makes it nice when I need something now.
