new owner of a 127

I just got a 127 and it worked great. But now the mower pto is not turning fast enough to cut. I have checked all the pullys and new main drive belt. seems like the pto is not turning as fast as the belt behind it. Any ideas would sure help. Thx Rob

Sounds like it is time to rebuild the PTO. It is slipping more than likely.

Also welcome to OCC glad to have you here.
You can find a service manual for your 127 in our Garden Tractor Library. Just go to home page and scroll down till you see the library listed. It will help you with all of the repairs and maintenance you will have to do eventually. :beerchug:

Thx everyone is there a kit to rebuild the pto? also how do you know what year the tractor is there are few tags on it. Pics of my 127 it's rough looking but runs great.

You can purchase a rebuild kit at your local Cub Cadet dealer or contact one of our sponsors at the top of the page and they can help you out also.

You should have a serial number tag on the back side riveted to the rear end. Post your serial number and we can tell you when it was made.

I would recommend replacing your PTO bearing while you are that far into it. It will be worth doing and be good for another 30 or 40 years. The rebuild kit usually runs around $50 +/-. The bearing around $20 or $30.
