SGT power steering
 

My super 982 / 2072 steering box seems to need a rebuild- it started leaking fluid out the top of the steering column under the steering wheel- I need some help as to where I can get it rebuilt or buy a rebuilt one or maybe a new one- thanks and of course I'm in a pinch without a running tractor- ted 207-632-****

Your best bet would be to have it rebuilt or do it yourself. I've heard that with the manual, and patience, most people that can turn a wrench can do the rebuild.

There are some JD and Simplicity tractors that use a similar steering column, and the rebuild kit is cheaper through them than through CC.

The service manual is an absolute must...don't even think about attempting the repair without it. There's about 75 pages in the manual dedicated to overhauling the steering column.
