#1 Trailer Acquisition
 

I picked up a #1 trailer off craigslist today, to go along with my 1650 project.

I thought it looked like a pretty sweet deal @ $80, so I drove a little over an hour to pick it up. Once I got there, I found it in a little rougher condition than I had imagined (don't we always) but I bought it anyway. It is a 45 year-or-so old trailer after all...

Along the way, someone drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom for drainage:

So it's going to need a little work, but that will come after the tractor most likely. When I do some work on it, I'll update this thread.

Can't wait to see what that looks like when you get done with it... Looks great.

So I guess (from reading another thread) that if there aren't any decals, there's really no other IH identification on these things, huh?

Congrats Dave, you beat me to it. The guy told me that you called a few minutes a head of me and if you didn't take it, it would have been mine. He is only about 15 minutes away from me. Look forward to seeing how it looks when finished. Good luck with it.

Dang it, I'm in Michigan as well!!! We could have all fought for it if I had seen it too. Glad you guys are South and West of me, I'm going to claim everything Northeast of you as mine.:biggrin2:

His wife told me that they had four other callers after me. Since I told them I'd be over the next day to get it, they put everyone else on hold. That was good of them.

And as soon as I learned that, I thought "I'll bet at least one of those four are OCC guys that will read this post."

And so it is. Sorry you missed out on it, but you probably won't find me in competition for a while. I need to focus my expenditures on the 1650. :)
