What is my 1872? MTD or CCC
 

Ok, Silly question probably:D but....I have a 1872 that was made by MTD from what I understand using IH parts, is that true? What does CCC stand for?

Cub Cadet Corporation. 1872's were built in 1988 &1989 and the true IH parts were gone by then but, they are great tractors.

The only IH parts in an 1872 would be a bolt here and there. It is mostly IH-designed, however.

Where are the mowers made now? To me they stopped being Cubs about 1998 or so.

This is a very old question that never got answered. So I bumped it. I dont know the answer. To me though is cheaper and cheaper but maybe still good. Then last shaft drive. Then a great tractor for 5-10 years and junk get a new one. Works for a business because how can you build them to last 50 plus years and expect more business. But great for us as a lot of those old 50 years GT are still around. :D

I know this is an old thread, but the CCC Corp. headquarters were always right next door to the MTD headquarters, i.e., on the same campus. For about the first 9 years of CCC production, MTD more or less left it alone other than transmission changes. But by 1990, you started to see the MTD Influence with the change in hydraulic system components. When MTD did go to cheaper hydraulic system components
