rod bearing
im in the process of overhauling my k241 and i checked my crank and turns out it is wore. so i was wondering if anyone has ever put a rod bearing in one of these old kohlers because a new crank is more then i paid for the whole thing

Depending on how bad your crank is, you could look into one of these kits:
http://cgi.ebay.com/10HP-ENGINE-MAST...item588e7c9af4 I bought one of these kits for my K321, if you look over the ad, you can see you can get the rod either .010 or .020 under sized. I had a member here tell me that a good machine shop can put in an insert and go to .030 under on the rod. My local machine shop guy (who is very far behind, still waiting on my motor) said he has heard of this being done, but has not done it himself. |
