My new 100

Well I pickuped a 100,looks kinda ruff but it runs good and shifts and drives well. But in checking the serial numbers I have a question. The serial number on the right hand side of the transmission is 10339.When I looked it up it came up as being built in 1961 now I know they didn't build the 100 model in 1961.Is it possible that it has an original transmission or am I just nuts LOL.As always an help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ben

Congrats Ben! The serial number can be on the right hand side but that's way to low to be a 100 serial number. The original tranny will not work with anything but a original. It could be stamped on top of the rear axle or have a tag to the left rear cover on the axle. Got any pics?

Thanks Duke Yeah I didn't know if an original would or wouldn't bolt up.I checked the top of the rear axle no luck.I'll look on the side of the covers and see if I can find anything.I don't have any pictures yet but I'll try and take some today if I can. Thanks again for your help.

Looks like a 100, or a 70. Sorry, for some reason I thought I read original. To early for me to try and read!

There should be one more # to the right under the paint.
Nice 100.

Nice 100.

I agree there might be a number to the right. On my 100 my serial number wasn't at your location but to the left stamp on the housing. If I'am correct on the early 100's the serial numbers had two or three different location where they were placed.

Mystery solved....There was another number under the paint..103391...I feel like a dope LOL.But thanks for all your help:beer2:
