Cub Cadet Original

Hello all

i just picked up a Cub Cadet Original today. its in great shape. has the grill and the IH logo still on it. even has the "Bird" hood emblem. has great fenders too with one crack in the fender pan which i will weld up and fix. no cracks in the frame meeting the rear end. it has a great running 7hp kohler K141 engine in it. i traded my old 109 with a wiring bug and $20 for it. it is in desperate need of a paint job. primer and paint brush painted yellow everywhere on it. but i will make it shine.

now i have one question for those of you with Originals. where is the serial number located on it? and if i found it and posted it here, would someone be able to tell me when it was built? i know its not a very early 61 because it doesn't have the collar type spindle. any help would be great! ill post pics soon

Congrats! Just because it doesn't have the collard spindles dosen't mean it's not a early 61. The collard spindles were recalled. When you take pics get some of the dash tower on the right side if it doesn't have the creeper hole. The serial number is stamped on the reduction housing on the right side of the tractor. It will be hand stamped not raised casting numbers. Looking forward to your pics!

im on a roll today! found the remains of an IH #1 cart that my neighbor had. he crushed it with his loader tractor on a scrapping binge. i saved what i could which was the tongue with the lever and the pivoting part that makes the cart dump. i hope they are worth something or i can find a box to put it back together. ill get pics put up here soon!
