Quick help needed!!

I am home today cause of more rain so I am trying to install a replacement 14 I got the other day. The PTO and pulley were loose so trying to pull it off, one set of screws were out, one only had a stripped lower screw and the other had both with the lock screw rounded out. After a good soaking for several days with PB no luck. Whipped out the drill and the single drilled out good, when I started on the last one it bit and ran it on down and seems to be spinning but won't fall on out the bottom. Is there going to be clearance for it to fall on out, I should have had the reverse bits but they were in the truck upstairs and I was too lazy to go get them till I ran it out. I tried the reverse bit, but I think it is not in the threads so the harder you push the less chance of it grabbing a thread and backing out. Does this sound right or is it still in the threads and my bit is just not cutting anymore and if it is screwed past the threads what do you do now, will it go past the bearing allowing the pto to come off. PTO was/ is loose on the bearing so the pto is not locked on it, just need to get these screws out of the way so I can get the 149 going, would like to mow with it this afternoon for a test. I can't find camera or would get a pic. Any help??

Going down to attack it again, will check for ideas in a few minutes. Thanks

OK, I got it by knockin the crap out of the center of the screw with a punch and breaking the head/tapered end off. Couldn't tell if it was out of the threads and knocked the whole thing out or still in threads and broke it off but the clutch is off and it has two fibers in it, is this normal? I adjusted the fingers and am waiting for a new bearing to reassemble, will also need a tap and maybe some set screws. I hope to use the screws out of the PTO that is on the engine in it now that is coming out.

My 14 had two fibers in it and the rebuild kit for the pto had one but it was the same thickness as both put together.

Thanks, I didn't know if that was factory or a mod by a PO. Didn't figure it would hurt if it was.

pto

my service manual says that 14hp and up came with 2 disc. when you buy the new replacement kit it has one disc, and they work the same. so dont worry.
i figure mine was original with the 2 disc. i hope the new one last another 37yrs.

Do you mean two friction plates stacked? Hmmmm. My 14 only has one. It's not working exactly right. Do I need to stack two together? I have an extra...
