Difference between a 149 and a 1450?

I know this, but my brain is not running well this morning. What is the difference between the QL tractors and the 129-149-169 series? Is it just the solid motor mounts as opposed to the QL's rubber mounts? I know they are configured a little differently as far as controls, but they are both wide-frames, both are hydros, both have 12-14-16 hp motors. What else?:bigthink:

The front axle mount is also different on the frame....I found that out the hard way, not to mention the pto is electric, the muffler, the side panels, the engine, etc....

motor mounts, starter, pto clutch, side panels. those are the main ones i know of. i like the 1x9 series better then the QL series because of those features

What he said. I do prefer the manual PTO's just due to ease of rebuilding and a lot cheaper to deal with. Also the QL's use a magneto behind the flywheel. A PITA to change if it goes bad. Have to pull the motor. On the 1x8/9 series you just fix the stater/Gen or get another one.

I'd love to add a 1450 or 1650 to my collection of Cubs. I'm sorta new to this addiction, though I've had my 1000 for about 9 years.
How is the front axle mount different? :bigthink:

Hmmm. I just came across a 149 in need of some love and affection. Figured I'd better get my 1650 done first. I may go back and see what the feller wants for it. I'd love to have another Cub for a loader bucket eventually.

Wise words there!
