Cubs vs the rest
I know some or most on this site are only Cub Cadets. But me on the other hand I happen to own one of the older craftsmen models. It has a briggs 18 v-twin 44 inch cut. Was real proud of this mower until the Cub came along. Now I can't ride it and I have put in a lot of work keeping the craftsman together. Pull it out try to use it. Nope put it back on the shelf and get the Cub out.
The guy I got the Cub from (wives grandfather) turned to team yellow and green and every time we get to talking mowers. Tells me how he wishes he never went green and stayed yellow. I used his mower once don't remember what model it was for a fair comparison (it was a garden tractor). And in my opinion it just didn't stack up to the Cub. Guess what I'm gettin at is this Cubs got me spoiled and nothing seems to come close it.:biggrin2::beerchug: |
Have to agree with you plummcrazy1864
I have several different brands of garden tractors but the Cubs will still be here and working hard long after the others have been used up :biggrin2: |
I have had my fair share of 'other' brands, but I always come back to the yellow and white. Well now red too, but there is just something about the cubs that I love and I know I will always have one. Well hopefully more than one :biggrin2:

Cub Cadets are all I will ever own. In fact, my wife is getting rid of her Snapper, and she's getting a Cub Cadet!

We never had any cubs growing up, my grandpa had a couple 70's/80's models craftsman GTs along with a Kubota CUT. I was always taught that you couldn't get any better than a Cub, once you had one than you were "it". So.... :biggrin2:

Yea, not saying anything bad about other brands.......JUST SOMETHING ABOUT A CUB:biggrin2:

true, I guess it's about like a Chevy/Ford/Mopar thing... IH may have not been the 1st GT, but they were the 1st major company to mass produce GTs and what a GT they made! I don't think there is another pre- year 2000 GT that I would envy over a Cub, IH or MTD...

When I was a kid, about 12, my first experience running a tractor was an IH Farmall Cub. What a beast! Only thing I hated, and still do to this day is the rear pto driven after engine clutch. Starting tractor moving with mower is a bit of a (cant think of a g rated word here) . anyway, JD had some nice garden tractors that got my attention back then, but I always had a thing for IH. Now, I have a couple IH machines, and can say from experience that the JDs never could match up.
