129 vs 125
What can anyone tell me about the 129 and the 125? Which is better? I know they are similar. Thanks
|
The 125 is a narrow frame, while the 129 is a wide frame. They both use the 12 hp Kohler engine. Neither one is better, than the other. I like the looks of the 129, over the 125. It's a matter of someone's preference. Hope this helps. :beerchug:

The 125 is my favorite.
Spring assist,3 point, snow thrower and snow blades go for a lot less than their wide frame counterparts.Just my opinion. |
I, too am a wide frame guy. Well, not literally :biggrin2:. Both are great tractors. I've never owned a 125 but it's the 129's grandpa. The 129 is a little easier to work on when it comes to drive shaft issues. Otherwise, they are both tough cub cadets. Good luck with your decision. :beerchug:

ok thanks guys. the reason I ask is because I have both and am trying to decide which to fix and use. Ive had the 129 for a little while. The motor smokes like a freight train. Its got the lift on the back, a big deck, and its hydrostat. I have kicked around the idea of rebuiding the motor but then though about just buying another motor. so I started looking. found a 125 with a replacement motor that was installed in 2009. I went to check it out and it runs good but has a leak where the drive shaft goes in the rearend. motor is good. so my intention is to take the replacement k301 out and put it in the 129. I just wanted to make sure im making the right decision. thanks

I was just thinking that was my best option. I wanted to get some opinions from you guys first. in fact I was the one that bought the spindles from your 125 to fix the deck on my 124. just another project I need to get finished. thanks

I agree with what everyone else is saying, they are both good tractors, but WFs are much easier to work on.
