New from VA
Hello,
I live in Gloucester, VA and have been looking for a garden tractor for a while. I found a 1978 CC 1650 for sale, then came home and found this site. Lots of info. here. Where would be the appropriate place to post questions about this tractor? Thanks, Ron |
Welcome to OCC and let me just say the 1650 is a beast. The 16HP motors are kind of few and far between. It also has the hydraulic lift and that is real nice if you are going to be using plows, snow blowers, etc.
Here is where you can post questions: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=9 |
:Welcome2: Glad to have you!

Well a 1650 followed me home yesterday, but not the one I originally posted about. Unlike the first one I looked at this one is solid. The deck is a 50" and turns smoothly. Owner said it used a lot of oil and by looking at it you can tell it didn't burn it, but on the bright side there's no chance of rust underneath.
http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...0517111828.jpg I'm going to start a thread in the tractor forum to hopefully chronicle the work I do on it. Since this is the forum to introduce yourself, my name's Ron and I live in Gloucester, VA. I'm in the Coast Guard and this is my first respectable garden tractor. I remember my grandfather having a red tractor when I was a kid, don't know if it was a red cub, a wheel horse, or a MF, either way I've had an eye out for tractors of any color as long as I can remember. I irritate my wife by driving slowly down country roads and rubbernecking to see in peoples garages, barns, backyards, etc. This is a great site, I've already downloaded all the manuals and separately bookmarked a few threads. Hopefully in the future I can provide some info. even if only to serve as a warning to others.:bash2: |
That is a great looking 1650. Looking forward to your posts. :beerchug:

Now let me tell you that hydostatics are ok but but not the best...but any international is a good buy. I'm a narrow frame manual guy. But any Cub is a good is a good Cub!!

Nice find Ron! That looks to be in nice shape too! Glad to see you found a cub you liked enough to call your own, I remember your other thread and was kind of disappointed to see you hadn't come back.
Looks like you will be around though. :beerchug: |
