Eventful Night!!!!!

I have changed alot on my tractor since I bought it not tool long ago. I have only ran it 1 weekend before now.

Made a practice pull and it pulled well. Track was still wet and tacky. So maybe about 190 feet.

First competition pull 950# I pulled 258 feet. It was still pulling well and then all of a sudden it just shut down. I could not get it to start. Pushed it back to the pits and found the points gap had opened almost 3 times what it should be. Finished first that round by 60 feet.

Second Round Pulling awesome then while the front was off the ground I saw something bounce. The flag man started throwing the flag like something crazy. He made me stop. So my run was cut off at 229 feet. Still finishing second in this round.

Third round. I went to the starting line. My right rear tire was flat. The valve stem must of stuck when I checked it before the run. Since I was the first to register in my class I took the flag and stopped right after. Maybe 3 feet. lol Rushed to the pit area and noticed that the tractor was starting to skip and pop. The points slipped again. Hurried and fixed the leaky valve steam and adjusted the points by eye and threw some super glue on it.

Took the flag and this thing pulled awesome. I made a full pull. Points must of slipped because it was popping ans skipping all the way back to the trailer. Blue flames blowing out of the pipes 2 feet.
That had lots of people staring. (I am the only one running meth)

So I got the event win during my second pull. I am second in points because I missed the first points race because my stepson was bit by a dog the last race day.

I have chevy points installed and I am thinking that the spring is too weak or something. I need to figure out why it is doing it asap.

I believe it was Brian Miller that said that chevy points were with stronger springs. Maybe it was Vogel. I can't remember, but I'd be looking at the mounting. :bigthink:

here is a thread of all of the work I have done on it. I actually tore the motor down today to do a partial rebuild. Cam, Steel Flywheel, and a valve job. It should run even better next time.
