Muffler Paint
 

I'm going to purchase a new muffler, or maybe a used one ( I cringe at used muffler on possible outcome) and would like to paint it with something that does not turn to rust soon. My muffler is not in bad shape, however it's solid rust on the outside.

Has anyone tried, and had any long term feedback on the ceramic paints at the local parts shops for mufflers, manifolds, etc ?

I do know if your surface is not ultra clean you will get flaking. If your surface is clean clean it works rather well.. Blast it if at all possible, and use a good grease/wax remover..
