exhaust question

How many of you have straight pipe exhaust. I want to put a stack on my k241 in my 100 but i dont want to burn up the exhaust valve with a straight pipe. Total length of the pipe will be about 28 inches and its 1 inch pipe. Im sure ill have to adjust the carb so it will run right also.
