Waiting for snow
Last year, I bought an 1862 with 798 hrs. It has a Sims all metal cab, loaded with lights frt/rear, strobe, dome light, 2 speed fan, also 450 blower. It runs perfect. So me being an auto body man, I sandblasted and repainted most of it, except the hood/side panels.and cab.. They look great, new graphics too. All maintained, I did the impeller mod also. It should work great.

I hate to disagree with a Cub guy on his first post. However I respectfully
disagree with the waiting on snow thing. It will come soon enough and leave a bit late.:biggrin2: Beautiful job on the tractor. Looks like some good fun coming, later. Ken |
Great looking unit. I put my #450 on my 1862 to take advantage of the P/S. Mine isn't nearly as clean as yours :D

Ready for snow!
Wow! Wow! WOW!
That sure is one beautiful rig you have there! Excellent job on the restoration I might add... I would love to get my hands on a cab like yours for my cyclops tractor (I have 2-1641's and an 1864 all restored). Check out my pics on this site...anyway... I found one about 10 miles away from me in excellent condition however the guy that owns it won't sell it!! He has it sitting on a pallet (under cover) and never uses it...but he won't part with it. He is a pack rat for sure! His yard is covered with many antique tractors, cars, boats, trailers, campers...you name it! Well, I'll keep looking... Is your blower a 450 or a 451? I believe the 451 is the correct blower for your tractor as that model has the correct pulley size for the PTO on the 1862. Did you fabricate the grill insert? It looks good! The plastic inserts are getting hard to find these days... A few more questions...do the side panel vents pull heat out of the cab? Do you cover them to keep the heat in? Do you have an electric heater for your cab? Have you tried using engine heat to warm the cab? Again, excellent work...a pleasure to see! |

1862
Thanks for your comments on my cub...it was quite a job restoring it,but I like repairing older quality products...as far as the grille,I did fabricate it up from a metal mesh grille I had and it's better than plastic ...as far as heating the cab,air is drawn out of it through the side panel vents..the m18 does not put out enough amperage to run an electric heater...so I just wear a jacket...it's way better than being covered in snow anyway..the 450 snowblower is the correct one for my 1862 also..:beerchug:
