2086 solenoid wiring

Since the search isn't working in this forum, I need some pics of a running 2086 SGT (with the Kawasaki engine) solenoid/starter area. A friend has a 2086 that he was working on around the steering column and somewhere along the line he pulled a black wire coming off the starter solenoid off and now the motor won't turn over. It ran fine before that so we're certain it has something to do with this wire. I've looked over this thing up down and backwards and I can't see anywhere to plug this in. It has a blade type (aftermarket) end on it so I don't know what's up with that? It has to be something to do with getting power to the solenoid, but where it goes is the million dollar question. When he discovered it it was laying down in the bottom by the steering column.

In order for the engine to roll over, the PTO Switch has to be in the off position and the LH Brake Pedal needs to be depressed.

Is that being done ?

Brake is set, PTO is off, first things I checked. I have the wiring schematic also, doesn't show any black wire coming off the solenoid. I will get a picture of the solenoid and wire. Looks like the guy that had it before hobbled some of the wiring, but it was working before my buddy had a bushing put in the the steering column tilt mechanism, and had the radiator and guards off.

Update....

Per the Owner's Manual, in addition to the above, someone needs to be sitting in the seat to satisfy the Seat Switch.

Per the Wiring Diagram, the only black wire I see, is going from the PTO Switch to the Seat Switch.

Looks like a home made modification. :bigeyes:

That's what I thought, but where should it plug in? I was sitting in the seat also when I tried to start it, but as long as the brake is set it shouldn't matter.

You are:
* Sitting in the Seat
* PTO switch in Off position
* LH Brake Pedal depressed

and this does not roll over ???

The only black wire I see is going to the a term. on the pto switch. It connects to one of the seat switches. Trace it and see if it goes there.
