Which Cub To Buy?
I have a 1600 lb boat, motor and trailers set up that I need to use a small tractor or UTV to maneuver in and out of a tight parking spot. I have located a person who has restored a 100, 105 and 127 all for sale. Was wondering which of the three might be best for my use?
Thanks in advance |
As long as you will be working on solid, level ground, any of them have the ability power wise.
I used to maneuvered a 24' pontoon boat with a 122. My experience and sugestions are this: First, if you will be using the stock drawbar with a ball installed, keep in mind that the ball will be quite low and close to the ground. Your trailer jack may not go low enough and you will need a different means of raising and lowering the tongue. Second, backing up a long trailer with a short wheelbase tractor can get quite hectic because you are sitting so close to the pivot point. Plus you can't see what's happening on the sides such as you can see in truck mirrors when backing up. The tractor you get, if this is it's main purpose, I would suggest fabbing up a front mount setup for the ball. I had a front ball setup on an old truck I had, and backing a trailer into anywhere with a vehicle going forward is unbelievably easy. My :TwoCents: |
Fab up a proper hitch set up . diffenitly get some weight on front end . or get a low boy.

First thing you need to find out is just how much tongue weight you have.
The more you have, the harder it will be to steer, regardless which end of the tractor you use. |
Tongue Weight
It is right at 100 lbs
