Hydro dipstick tube removal

I bought a replacement hydrostat rear end but it came with a broken off dipstick tube in the case. How do I remove this? Is it pressed in or is it threaded in?

Threaded in. If it seems stuck pretty hard I would probably try welding something to it to turn it out, but you may be able to get it with an easy out or even just tapping it with a chisel if its not stuck bad.

You might try the tapered end of a metal file. Press it in the hole then turn with a channel lock pliers. I have also used this file extractor technique on broken exhaust pipes.

Go visit your local machine shop. Problem solved and you won't have a screwed up trans.
